North Indian cotton yarn firms as higher cotton costs lift prices

Cotton yarn prices increased by &#****;* per kg in the Ludhiana market, as spinning mills further hiked selling prices to pass on higher production costs. A trader from the Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “Cotton yarn prices were quoted higher as mills were trying to recover additional production costs. However, demand from the consumer industry was not very encouraging in north India.”

In Ludhiana, ** count cotton combed yarn was sold at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg (inclusive of GST); ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, respectively; and carded yarn of ** count was noted at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg today, according to trade sources.
