India remains highly dependent on imports to meet domestic sulphur demand. More than ** per cent of India’s total sulphur imports originate from the Middle East, mainly from the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other regional suppliers where sulphur is recovered as a by-product of oil and gas refining.
