Germany's inflation rate 2.3% in Oct 2025: Destatis

The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year (YoY) change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at 2.3 per cent in October this year, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

The inflation rate was 2.4 per cent in September and 2.2 per cent in August.

"Following two consecutive increases, the inflation rate fell slightly again in October," said Destatis president Ruth Brand in a release.

Consumer prices rose by 0.3 per cent month on month (MoM) in October.

The prices of energy products were 0.9 per cent lower YoY in October. The decline in energy prices, therefore, accelerated slightly again.

The inflation rate excluding energy stood at 2.5 per cent in October 2025, after 2.7 per cent in September.

Core inflation rate (excluding food and energy) remained at 2.8 per cent in October compared to 2.8 per cent in September 2025. Both rates demonstrate that inflation remained above average in other important product groups.
