Retail turnover in real terms has thus stagnated from the beginning of the year as the decline in March offset the increase in February 2022 (+0.1 per cent on January 2022).
Compared with March 2021, retail trade recorded a 2.7 per cent decrease in turnover in real terms and a nominal increase of 3.1 per cent. The difference between the results in real and nominal terms reflects the high price increases in retail trade, according to Destatis.
