NRF names The List of People Shaping Retail's Future 2020

The NRF Foundation has announced names of an exclusive group of individuals to The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future 2020. The honourees are industry leaders who are impacting retail and will be recognised on January 12, 2020, at the NRF Foundation Honors, which will be held during the NRF 2020 Vision: Retail’s Big Show, in New York City.

The sixth annual Honors will bring together hundreds of the industry’s executives to celebrate those named to The List, award scholarships to students aspiring to become the next generation of retail leaders, and announce the recipient of the RISE Up Partner of the Year for the Foundation’s industry-backed RISE Up training and credentialing programme. Also at the Honors, Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass will be recognised as ‘The Visionary’, an award given to a retail leader with a history of spearheading change in the industry, according to a press release by NRF.

Members of The List 2020 include Ann-Marie Campbell, executive vice president-US Stores, The Home Depot; Manny Chirico, chairman and CEO, PVH; Kerry Cooper, president and chief operating officer, Rothy’s; Philip Krim, co-founder and CEO, Casper; and James Reinhart, co-founder and CEO, thredUP.

Proceeds from the Honors benefit the NRF Foundation, NRF’s non-profit arm, which is committed to demonstrating retail as an industry of opportunity and creating programmes that train individuals and help them find jobs in retail. The Honors is expected to raise over $3.5 million for initiatives including educational programs, student scholarships and RISE Up. Since 2015, the event has raised more than $10 million to support the Foundation’s efforts.

“Our industry has the power to spark impressive change and build dynamic careers, and the honourees on The List embody the passion and diversity in retail today. This year’s honourees are true champions of retail. They are leading the way to create more opportunities in their businesses and communities that inspire innovation and support the future of the industry,” NRF president Ellen Davis said.
