Sanjay Behl, who stepped down as CEO of Lifestyle business at fashion and textile retailer Raymond in March, has joined Mirrorsize Inc as a member of its advisory board. Mirrorsize is a 3D body measurement solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI), advanced computer vision, deep learning models, and mesh processing to provide precise body measurements.

Over the last seven years with the Raymond group, Behl was instrumental in transforming the group’s lifestyle business from being a legacy iconic textile manufacturing behemoth in India into a leading and profitable fashion retail company.

Behl was earlier group head-brand & marketing of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (ADA) Group, and headed the team that conceptualised and created the corporate brand identity when the Reliance ADA Group was formed in 2006.

During his eight-year stint with the Reliance ADA group, Behl had multiple business and functional leadership assignments including that of CEO of Reliance Direct-To-Home Satellite TV.

An IIT graduate, Behl was also chairman of the CII HR and Leadership National Council (2019-2020), and has held prominent positions at Nokia India and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).

"On behalf of Mirrorsize, I heartily welcome Behl on our advisory board. With his rich industry experience in branding, management and leadership in the global textile and fashion industry, we look forward to his insights on how to position and steer our company during this crisis period, and in the post COVID-19 era," said Arup Chakraborty, founder and CEO, Mirrorsize.

“We believe Behl will add tremendous value and enhance the credibility of our organisation as we continue our digital journey in these uncertain times,” Chakraborty added.

"I am delighted to be part of the Mirrorsize advisory board. My stints with prominent companies and illustrious brands including Raymond Lifestyle, the Reliance ADA Group, Nokia and HUL have taught me how to steer teams during times of crisis. As retail outlets strengthen their digital transformation initiatives, I believe a startup like Mirrorsize add a lot of value by partnering with such companies," said Behl.

These developments come at a time when Mirrorsize is in talks to raise funds, which Chakraborty plans to use to set up a global sales and marketing team and step up focus on R&D.

It was only early this year that Mirrorsize added Aniruddha Deshmukh as a ‘strategic advisor’ in a bid to strengthen the company’s management team.

Deshmukh is a former CEO/MD of Mafatlal Industries and former president of Raymond. He is an IIM-Kolkata alumnus with over 30 years of experience in the apparel and textile industry.

Just last month, Mirrorsize co-opted as co-founders, two of its employees who started out as interns in the company.

Dilpreet Kaur, aged 25, joined Mirrorsize in June 2018. She is the company's in-house expert in computer vision, 3D and advanced mesh processing. Kaur leads the computer vision team at Mirrorsize, and also leads the research and development (R&D) effort at Mirrorsize.

Twenty-five-year old Divay Parashar leads the entire platform team at Mirrorsize. He joined Mirrorsize in January 2018.

Last, but not the least, despite COVID-19, Mirrorsize is hiring.

“We have already hired an AI engineer to further strengthen the Computer Vision team. We have also advertised for two positions to strengthen our sales and marketing team, said Chakraborty.

“What's helping us is that in the new era of personalisation and standardisation, customers are demanding not only better design, a better fit but also want ease and convenience of shopping. We were more than surprised to have signed up a few small customers from geographies as diverse as Australia, the US, Pakistan, Morocco and even India.”

Mirrorsize US Inc, is a New Jersey-registered C Corp with a product development office in New Delhi, India. It’s patent-pending technology makes it the only company in the world to allow a user to wear skin tight or regular clothing while using the app by using a combination of image processing and data analytics to display body measurements.
