The monthly variation of Spain’s seasonally- and calendar-adjusted general retail trade index (RTI) at constant prices between February and January this year stood at minus 0.3 per cent—seven-tenths lower than the previous month. The general index, excluding service stations, recorded a monthly decline of 2.6 per cent.The index for non-food products fell by 3.5 per cent on a monthly basis, official statistics show.
In February, the index at constant prices, once adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, registered a variation of 4 per cent compared with the same month of the previous year. This was 1.5 points lower than the one registered in January.
