Vietnam's CPI up 3.26% YoY in Jan-Jul 2025

Vietnam’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 3.26 per cent year on year (YoY) in the first seven months this year, while core inflation rose by 3.18 per cent, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

Rising costs for housing repairs, food and dining out were the main contributors to a 0.11 per cent month-on-month (MoM) increase in CPI in July. The index rose by 2.13 per cent from December 2024 and 3.19 per cent YoY in the month.

The CPI rose by 0.03 per cent in urban areas of the country and by 0.2 per cent in rural areas. Among 11 primary commodity groups, prices increased in nine categories and declined in two.

Core inflation in July increased by 0.21 per cent MoM and by 3.3 per cent YoY.

The US dollar price index in July increased by 0.37 per cent MoM and by 3.39 per cent YoY, whereas the average over the first seven months this year increased by 3.32 per cent.
