Japan's Kuraray to halt production of KURARITY Acrylic Block Copolymer

Kuraray announced its decision to end the production and sale of KURARITY acrylic block copolymer by the end of June 2026.
Despite efforts to expand its applications since its 2012 launch, the company cites a challenging business environment and difficulties in maintaining profitability and stable production as reasons for the discontinuation.

Kuraray Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kawahara; hereinafter “Kuraray”) hereby announces its decision to end the production and sale of KURARITY acrylic block copolymer.

Since the commercialization of KURARITY in 2012, Kuraray has striven to expand operations related to this product by releasing variations suitable for a diverse range of applications. However, due to the ongoing harshness of the business environment, we have judged that it will be extremely difficult to secure sufficient profit to sustain these operations and maintain stable production going forward.

Accordingly, Kuraray will cease the production of KURARITY at the end of June 2026.
