bluesign technologies ag announces that Everest Textile Co LTD performs a bluesign screening. While performing a bluesign screening, Everest relies on the bluesign standard in practically managing all environment, health and safety (EHS) issues in its manufacturing sites.

The bluesign screening includes a detailed on-site evaluation of the environment, resource and workplace situation of textile manufacturing sites according to the five principles of the bluesign standard including resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety. It indicates resource- and cost saving potentials compared to "Best Available Technology".

"It is our vision to assist textile manufacturers to deliver high performance textiles to the market at low environmental impact, all while minimising resource consumption", says Mr. Peter Waeber, CEO of bluesign technologies ag.

"Everest shares this philosophy with us. With Everest aboard, we gained a very interesting and promising company who is strongly committed to reducing its own ecological footprint."

Mr. Roger Yeh, president of Everest Textile Co LTD, is confident of this collaboration between Everest Textile and bluesign technologies ag.

"In correspondence with the serious global warming issue, Everest Textile initiated an Everest sustainability model ("ESM") to develop a strategic action plan entitled "Energy saving, Care for the Environment and our Earth". The goal of this strategy is to create an ecological measure as reviewing standard for internal and external procedures, and also serves to encourage our business partners and communities to contribute to environmental protection."

He further points out that "We are committed to provide more green products to both our customers and the consumers from now on to the future. bluesign technologies ag has proven to be the best choice of partner in this endeavour."

"Their experience with the handling of complex EHS-issues in the textile supply chain leads to practical solutions for textile manufacturers and will help Everest Textile to make right decisions for our products, our customers and the environment."
