The Sustainable Textile School in Germany will focus on recycling and efficient sourcing with superefficient operations, up and downstream in textiles industry. The three-day event beginning September 10, 2018 will throw light on the formation of a marketplace for innovation and further educate the industry with a focus on sustainability.

"Our goal is to establish a global textile education platform. From fibre to garment, from consumer demands to consumer takebacks we develop sustainable engineering for the circular textile chain together," The Technical University (TU) of Chemnitz said in a press release.

At the Sustainable Textile School, a sustainable innovation will receive the Environmental Innovation Prize 2018. The prize will be awarded to practical and eco-friendly proposals that deal with the downstream use of resources or high-quality recycling. The solutions shall contribute to saving resources or transfer them into closed material cycles.

Currently, TU is in the process of developing the programme and connecting with experts from various fields for the two days of education. (RR)
