The 47th edition of the Filo yarns and fibres' exhibition that was recently held in Milan, Italy, witnessed a 14 per cent increase in the number of visitors as compared to its previous edition in 2016. Italian as well as international exhibitors participated in the two-day fair and it witnessed an increased participation from Japan, Korea and the UK.

The 47th Filo proposed the excellence of yarns for weaving for top-of-the-range products. New Italian and foreign exhibitors also participated in the event. It has been organised by Filo in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency and Sistema Moda Italia.

"We consider it a confirmation that the organisational choices we have made, following the changes in the textile-apparel exhibitions agenda, have been correct; and that the constant communication we have entertained with the textile professionals on this issue has payed back. Moreover, they have been appreciated not only by exhibiting companies but also by all operators, considering the number of pre-registrations requested by buyers," said Paolo Monfermoso, responsible for Filo.

"Within an economic context that changes rapidly and is influenced by uncertain political scenarios globally, the aim of a fair like Filo is to offer to participating companies effective opportunities for growth and the possibility to increase their competitiveness on the domestic and the international markets," added Monfermoso.

The 'Forever Tourists' trends area at the fair represented an invitation to travel across different shades that luxury and top-of-the-range products take on. However, the invitation to ‘travel’ within taste and style was enlarged to the whole exhibiting space of the 47th Filo, involving all the protagonists, said the organiser in a press release.

Among the exhibition booths, excellence's yarns proposed by the exhibitors were known for their stylistic good taste that represents the trademark of made in Italy textile tradition.

Cristina Tajani, councilor of the municipality of Milan for employment, economic development, fashion and design, was one of the presenters during the inauguration ceremony of the trade event. (KD)
