Amfori, leading global business association for open and sustainable trade, has unveiled its first annual report under its new name and identity sending a message to members and stakeholders to use trade for good in the world. Embedding UN Sustainable Development Goals in activities, it reinforced three products to empower members to ‘Trade with Purpose’.

The report delivers on the association’s strategic Vision 2030.

This year’s milestones include amfori BSCI, an Audit Integrity Programme and Responsible Recruitment Module, amfori BEPI, which marks expansion of training activities and another year of record double digit growth, and amfori Advocacy which represents enlarged scope to include the monitoring of policy developments at the international level.

For Amfori, it represents a year of building the new brand and transforming the organisation to be fit for the future by introducing a new governance structure, extending the membership offering and reshaping the global network.

“Working towards a more transparent and participatory approach, members are at the core of decision making of our association. A new simpler governance structure includes a Member and Stakeholder Advisory Council, Local Networks and Project Groups,” Amfori said.

“Even in times of strong anti-trade rhetoric and protectionism, amfori reported the strongest increase in membership with more than 2200 businesses in supply chains across 44 countries on 4 continents, representing a combined turnover of 1.6 trillion euro,” the report said.
“This tremendous growth demonstrates companies’ commitment towards open and sustainable trade and demonstrates their trust in amfori as the association in supporting them to prepare their businesses for the challenges in the future,” according to the report. (SV)
