Asahi Kasei Fibers, a Japan based global fibre producer, will inaugurate new offices in Gallarate, Italy in order to enhance its business in the country, which will also serve as its headquarters - fibres for the European market, according to a press statement issued by the company.

The Italian division of Asahi Kasei Fibers delivered earnings of €58.6 million in 2015, which represents a rise of 19 per cent as compared to 2014. The earnings have largely been possible because of the take-up in the sales of Cupro cellulose fibres. Cupro will be the main player in the strategic activity of Asahi Kasei Fibers, which will start from the Gallarate facility.

The offices will focus on the introduction of new made-to-measure technologies, technical collaboration with partners and a significant European marketing and communications programme in support of the Cupro brand and its direct (textiles producers) and indirect (brands and retailers) partners.

The company also announced changes at the top management. Toshio Takanashi is to become Primary Executive Officer of Asahi Kasei Corporation, but will continue to cover his present duties in the fibres and textiles division. Masanori Yagami will become manager of the Cupro division.

Additionally, Asahi Kasei Fibers, Asahi Kasei Chemicals and Asahi Kasei E-materials will also be integrated into Asahi Kasei Corporation. (MCJ)
