In the first quarter of the current year, fabric accounted for 88.56 per cent of China’s total textile exports to Cambodia. Yarn exports stood at $140.272 million (11.22 per cent), while fibre exports were $2.703 million (0.22 per cent), according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
China had supplied textile products worth $1,050.473 million to Cambodia in the first quarter of the previous year. Of this, fabric shipments were valued at $929.869 million (88.52 per cent), yarn at $118.593 million (11.29 per cent), and fibre at $2.010 million (0.19 per cent).
China recorded a steep rise in textile exports to Cambodia last year. Outbound shipments jumped 33.22 per cent to $4,800.568 million in 2024, up from $3,603.142 million in 2023. Fabric exports increased from $3,300.889 million in 2023 to $4,382.479 million in 2024. However, the fabric share in total textile exports declined slightly from 91.61 per cent in 2023 to 91.27 per cent in 2024, as per TexPro.
China’s yarn exports to Cambodia rose from $294.744 million in 2023 to $411.850 million in 2024. Fibre shipments were noted at $7.239 million in 2024, up from $5.509 million in 2023.
