China's textile machinery export grows in Jan-May'14

The export of textile machinery from China grew by 23.27 percent year-on-year to US$ 1.203 billion in the first five months of the current year, according to customs statistics.
 
Among these, knitting machinery exports fetched the highest sum of $334 million, growing at 25.09 percent year-on-year. Knitting machinery accounted for 27.75 percent of all textile machinery exports made by China during January-May 2014, the data showed.
 
China exported textile machinery to 167 countries and regions during the five-month period. Of these, exports to India stood at $206 million, showing an increase of 6.91 percent year-on-year.
 
Of the 30 Chinese provinces and autonomous regions that exported textile machinery, the top five provinces together accounted for 78.05 percent of the total exports. Jiangsu Province alone exported textile machinery worth $307 million, surging at 30.24 percent year-on-year. The province had one-fourth share in all textile machinery exports from China.
 
However, the highest increase of 52.73 percent year-on-year was seen in textile machinery exports from Guangdong Province.
