China has streamlined its export tax rebate framework with the release of updated administrative measures aimed at simplifying procedures and improving efficiency for exporters, according to the State Taxation Administration (STA).

The department said the new rules consolidate multiple export tax rebate and exemption provisions issued over time into a single, standardised set of guidelines. These measures clearly outline requirements related to record filing, declarations, processing and service management, making compliance easier for businesses, said Chinese media reports.

The revised framework also optimises rebate and exemption processes by incorporating big data and advanced technologies to speed up handling and improve service efficiency. STA said that most exporters will see little change in their current declaration practices, ensuring a smooth transition for ongoing export tax rebate and exemption activities.
