This may sound like music for the global textile industry.
Production of raw cotton in China, which is the biggest consumer and importer of the white gold, is expected to ascend by a massive 18.61 percent over the previous year.
These are the findings of the National Cotton Market Monitoring System, which launched a nationwide survey on the progress of cotton growth in the second fortnight of June.
The findings show that since June, China's major cotton-producing regions have received normal weather, pests and diseases have been mild, due to which, picking period is expected to start in normal time.
New cotton yield is expected to be 93.06 kg per Mu (one hectare equals 15 Chinese Mu), a 9.29 percent increase over the previous year, if the weather is normal in later times.
New cotton output is expected to reach 7.3902 million tons, up 18.61 percent over the previous year, and a 2.47 percent increase over the average of the same period in the latest three years.
