In East China, the domestic Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) spot market was stable on May 21. Selling offers were in the range of 8500-8550 Yuan/ton, downstream manufacturers bid for price in the range of 8400-8450 Yuan/ton, and actually negotiated prices were in the range of 8450-8500 Yuan/ton.
In North China, PTA market was flat on May 21. Sellers quoted price in the range of 8550-8600 Yuan/ton, downstream manufacturers showed interest in the price around 8450 Yuan/ton, and actual negotiations took place in the range of 8450-8550 Yuan/ton. Overall trading atmosphere was dull in the market and actual negotiation was limited.
For Taiwan PTA, sellers quoted price of around US$ 1110/ton, while buyers bid for price in the range of US$ 1090-1095/ton, and finally negotiated prices were in the range of US$1095-1100/ton.
Similarly, for Korea produced PTA, selling offers were in the range of US$ 1090-1095/ton, while buying bids were in the range of US$ 1080-1085/ton, and actually negotiated prices were in the range of US$ 1085-1090/ton.
