Cotton imports record unprecedented increase

China's cotton imports registered 221,000 tons in February, up 128,000 tons year on year, or an increase of 137.6 percent, according to customs statistics.

In the first two months of 2010, China's total cotton imports realized 520,000 tons, up 351,000 tons year on year.

As of February, China's total cotton imports recorded 1.086 million tons in 2009-10 cotton year, an increase of 442,000 tons or 68.9 percent year on year.
