Dutch manufacturing output rises 1.1% in January

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported that Dutch manufacturing output rose 1.1 per cent in January 2025 compared with January 2024, with growth in half of all industrial sectors. The transport equipment industry saw the strongest gains, while output in the chemical industry fell most sharply.

After adjusting for seasonal and working-day effects, output rose 0.4 per cent from December.

CBS also noted that producer confidence dropped to -1.1 in February, reflecting weaker order expectations over the next three months.

Manufacturers in the electrical and machinery industry remained the most positive, with a confidence reading of 5.9, while those in the textile, clothing and leather sectors were the most negative, with a reading of -7.0.
