The calendar-adjusted output of the Dutch manufacturing sector was 0.8 per cent higher year on year (YoY) in May this year, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Output rose in half of the sectors.

Half of the various industrial sectors produced more than they did one year previously. Of the eight largest sectors, output fell the most sharply in the chemical industry.

After adjustment for seasonal effects and the working-day pattern, manufacturing output in May rose by 0.5 per cent month on month (MoM), a CBS release said.

Producer confidence in the Netherlands declined further in June. This was mainly because manufacturers were more negative about expected output and more negative about their order books.
