Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) recently signed a partnership and financing agreement with Paradise Textiles and affiliated companies to support setting up the region’s largest fabric manufacturing plant in the Amreya Public Free Zone in Alexandria governorate.

CIB will finance $72 million—to be disbursed in three phases—out of the project’s total investment of around $102 million.

The first tranche of $35.5 million will be released in the current phase, while the rest will be disbursed over the following two years as per the agreed schedule.

An integrated manufacturing facility will be set up using the latest environment-friendly technologies and machinery, reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability, according to domestic media reports.

It is the first project of its kind in the Middle East to target LEED green sustainability certification.

The plant will design and manufacture polyester fabrics and high-quality synthetic textiles, primarily used in the production of home wear and sportswear for global brands.
