President Abdel Fattah al- Sisi in a recent meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and minister of public business sector Hisham Tawfiq urged both to continue government efforts to upgrade Egypt’s spinning and weaving industry so that it can regain its prominence. He directed to keep up the comprehensive reforms in the public business sector.

The president also called for setting up accurate sector-wise databases to maximise investment benefits, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said on the president’s website.

During the meeting Tawfiq briefed President Sisi on his ministry's efforts to improve the textile industry, reviewing the assets of public business companies.
