Epson continues to strengthen its position in SE Asia

The firm witnessed a positive growth for the last five years and announced a growth of 9 per cent in FY15 in the region that includes countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines. It expects to continue a double-digit growth trend in the mid-term.

Epson aims to grow its digital textile, signage and label printing business in SE Asia. It currently enjoys 85 per cent market share for dye-sublimation digital textile printing in the region. The company’s collaboration with Robustelli, an Italian textile printer manufacturing company, will help the former to roll-out its high-end direct-to-garment roll-to-roll digital textile printer within SE Asia.

The PrecisionCore printhead technology by Epson enables printing on fabrics and other media with a variety of inks. This scalable technology is a part of the company’s professional printing business that is expanding in the region. Epson’s large format printer business clocked in a growth of 6 per cent in FY15 and is expected to grow by 13 per cent in FY16.
