Ethylene prices move up in Europe; down in US

The prices of ethylene moved up in the European market in the last week ending April 1, 2016, due to favourable market fundamentals. However, prices showed downtrend in the US market during the same period.
In Europe, average prices went up by $25/ton and were quoted at $895/ton in the last week, up 2.87 per cent compared to the previous week ending March 25, 2016.
In the US market, due to ample of product availability, average prices dropped by 5 cents/pound and were quoted at 25 cents/pound in the last week, a decrease of 16.67 per cent compared to the previous week.
