Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, energy stood at 13.7 per cent compared with 18.9 per cent in January 2023 and non-energy industrial goods at 6.8 per cent, compared with 6.7 per cent in January, the statistical office of the European Union (EU) Eurostat said in a press release.
EU’s annual inflation was 10.0 per cent in January 2023, down from 10.4 per cent in December. Compared with December, annual inflation fell in 18 member states and rose in nine for that month.
