Filpucci Group, a leading developer of high-end creative knitwear yarns, is displaying its ‘Responsible Innovation Collection’ at the 84th edition of the Pitti Filati expo, in booth D14/16. Pitti Filati is a global event that presents world-scale excellence in the field of yarn and knitting industry, which is being held from January 23-25, 2019, in Italy.

The mix of the best raw materials (high-tech and natural), the know-how of Filpucci in the spinning process, and the integration of responsible innovation values both in the dyeing and in the finishing processes, have given life to a collection that represents a new level of smart innovation linked to a transparent, sustainable and certified production. Responsible innovation means creating a strategy focused on creativity, innovation and sustainability that involves each stage of the production process, whilst respecting the values of Filpucci’s DNA, according to a press release.

The collection of this season is composed of 36 yarn styles, among which some are new developments and some are already established products. The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified ENKA viscose is a key ingredient of the SS 2020 collection, being blended in more than the 50 per cent of the articles. A brand new life to yarns characterised by volume and lightness. The viscous one with guarantee FSC attests that the cellulose originates from forests responsibly managed. FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.

The collection also presents GOTS certified organic cotton and linen. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most important standard for sustainable production of garments and natural fibre textile products from organic farming. GOTS certification applies to textile products, textile chemicals used, and all manufacturing activities. GOTS criteria measures environmental, technical quality, toxicity, and social impacts. GOTS is backed by independent certification for the entire supply chain.

Within the premium ingredients, the Bemberg collection by Asahi Kasei (cupro fibre) stands out as a matchless and original, new generation material made from the smart-tech transformation of a cotton linter, a bio-utility waste, converted through a traceable and transparent process being a model of the modern circular economy that boasts top level certifications at each level of the supply chain. The GRS certification (Global Recycled Standard) for transformed fibres provides evidence and criteria to cover the composition of the recycled product respecting social criteria and workers’ rights.
