Fine cotton yarn rises further in Mumbai on strong domestic demand

In Mumbai, superfine cotton yarn faced a demand–supply mismatch. Strong demand pushed prices of superfine cotton yarn up by &#****;*–* per kg. A trader from the Mumbai market told Fibre2Fashion, “Domestic demand for finer count cotton yarn was higher than for coarse counts. However, overall demand for cotton yarn remained average. Power looms and auto looms are running at **–** per cent capacity due to limited fabric buying.”

In Mumbai, ** carded yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) and &#****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (~$**.**-**.**) (excluding GST), respectively.
