GOTS Bangladesh Seminar 2019, focussing on issues relevant to the organic textile industry, will be held on September 8, 2019, at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka, Bangladesh. The theme for the seminar is ‘Connecting for Success’. Around 250-300 senior colleagues from 150 different industry organisations will attend the event.

Delegates will have the chance to learn about best practices and know how related to the biggest opportunities – and challenges – to help transform their supply chains. The seminar serves as great platform to connect with supply chain partners and relevant service providers for sustainable textile business, according to a press release on the show.

For the first time, the GOTS seminar includes a fun quiz that tests the participants’ grasping of topics discussed at the seminar. The seminar consists of four sessions. Sustainable Retail will talk about recent trends, priorities, and experience of conscious buyers. GOTS Technical Criteria and its Implementation will include latest criteria and experiences from implementation partners for technical aspects of the standard.

Connecting on the Job - Workers and Management session will talk about exploring working conditions at garment (and other) factories in Bangladesh, connecting workers, and factory owners to discuss relevant social compliance issues. Connecting Supply Chain Partners session will talk about connecting key supply chain partners including garmenting, wet processing, testing, certifiers, and chemical suppliers.

The show is time-efficient, where one will get to know about GOTS and the organic textile industry in just a day, without the need to travel far. It will also be cost-effective, as GOTS has kept the registration fee as low as possible. The show will provide unique networking opportunities, where participants can meet other companies traversing the landscape of organic textiles and share their experiences. The seminar will provide a range of topics, with an emphasis on audience interaction. (GK)
