India’s Karnataka state cabinet will constitute a sub-committee chaired by chief minister HD Kumaraswamy to decide on offering a special incentive package to the industry. The sub-committee will have the ministers for industries, small scale industries and revenue as its members, according to state law and parliamentary affairs minister Krishna Byre Gowda.

The cabinet decided to offer a grant of ₹15 crore to the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bengaluru for setting up a Centre of Excellence in Agri Innovation to support innovations and start-ups in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry, according to a news agency report.
It also approved ₹114 crore for Koppal Government Medical College, ₹112 crore for Gadag Government Medical College; ₹113 crore for Chamarajanagar Government Medical College and ₹134 crore for Mysuru Super Speciality Hospital for upgrading the facilities. (DS)
