India’s Karnataka state cabinet will constitute a sub-committee chaired by chief minister HD Kumaraswamy to decide on offering a special incentive package to the industry. The sub-committee will have the ministers for industries, small scale industries and revenue as its members, according to state law and parliamentary affairs minister Krishna Byre Gowda.

The sub-committe will consider factors like proposed investment and job creation, Gowda said after a recent cabinet meeting.

The cabinet decided to offer a grant of ₹15 crore to the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bengaluru for setting up a Centre of Excellence in Agri Innovation to support innovations and start-ups in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry, according to a news agency report.

It also approved ₹114 crore for Koppal Government Medical College, ₹112 crore for Gadag Government Medical College; ₹113 crore for Chamarajanagar Government Medical College and ₹134 crore for Mysuru Super Speciality Hospital for upgrading the facilities. (DS)
