India's viscose, PC yarn prices drop due to cheaper Chinese imports

Viscose compact yarn prices in Surat dropped by &#****;* per kg and viscose vortex yarn prices remained stable. The market is experiencing slow demand and reports of Chinese supplies. A trader from Surat told Fibre2Fashion, “Cheaper viscose yarn from China may hit the Indian market in May. Several importers have already finalised deals for vortex viscose yarn at *-* per cent lower prices (landed prices) than domestic rates.” A Mumbai trader added that most viscose yarn import deals were finalised in southern states, where imported yarn will be consumed at prices &#****;**-** per kg lower than local yarn.

In Mumbai, imported ** count viscose vortex yarn was priced at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg; and local ** count ring-spun viscose yarn at &#****;***-*** (approximately $*.**-*.**) per kg.
