Iran's textile export rise, imports plummet

A year on year rise of 21 percent has been witnessed in textile items exports from Iran which grew to $707 million during the period March 21, 2010-January 20, 2011, from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, a fall of nine percent has been registered in the country's imports of textile items, during the period under consideration.

Shamseddin Hosseini, former Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance in Iran stated that the non-oil export volume of the country grew to $26 billion during initial 10 months of the current Iranian financial year which started on March 21, 2010.

The Minister revealed that, a decade back this figure stood at four billion dollar, which grew to seven billion dollars, five years back.
