Job fair for textile & garment workers in Mysuru

A job fair is being held in Mysuru, Karnataka to offer work to both, skilled and unskilled workers in the textile and garment sector in the district. The job fair is being held jointly by the Department of Handlooms and Textiles, the District Industries Centre, Rudset Institute and Lead Bank, which is expected to offer jobs to around 3,500 unemployed workers.
“Over 15 textiles and garment companies have been roped in to participate in the fair, which is expected to be held in the last week of October 2016,” a leading daily reported.
Various government agencies and departments, including women and child welfare and social welfare departments impart training to thousands of youth, especially women.
The job fair is being organised in particular for these trained workers so that they do not remain jobless even after undergoing training. (AR)
