Khadi sales have doubled, says Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his All India Radio programme, 'Mann Ki Baat' said that the sales of khadi have doubled during the last 12 month-period.
He requested the citizens to take advantage of the month-long concession on khadi products beginning from October 2, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti.
He further added that a small effort by people to buy khadi as well as handloom products can improve the livelihood of weavers.
PM Modi also said, “I request you all to give khadi a place in your homes this Diwali.”
He made a similar appeal to use 'Khadi for Fashion' last year encouraging the use of the handlooms and khadi products. (HO)
