MarediModa to display latest swimwear in November edition

The next edition of MarediModa is set to be held from November 6-8, 2018, at the Palais Des Festivals in Cannes, France. Collections of fabrics and accessories for swimwear, underwear, and athleisure for summer 2020 will be featured at the expo with over 100 European companies presented in a preview, representing the absolute top segment of the sectors.

MarediModa will present the major themes developed by David Shah, Anne Marie Commandeur, and the style bureaux of the MarediModa member companies. The event highlights six influential design themes – four swimwear oriented and two intimate apparel. Each theme informs and inspires truly specialised and fully hybridised design. Choices made during the design process ensure that the variety appeals to all consumers, honouring diversity and addressing the importance of inclusivity, according to a press release in the event.

The trends which can be deeply investigated in the new, functional trend area include Paradise Found, Activism, Deco Lux, Iconic from Swimwear; Sanctuary and Bloom from Intimate apparel, and Athleisure from Touch Base.

In the beachwear category, Amelia Goff will include the Japanese concept of Shinrin-Yoko, a full forest bathing, an energising immersion in nature transposed on printed fabrics for a lush beachwear collection with a touch of gold.

Sandrina Qokaj will include a collection deeply in dialogue with clothing. A style which reminds to the 50s, elegant prints and great concern to details. Marina Smith will include picasso-style mermaids, inspired by the Venus of Botticelli. Art and pureness get along in a refined and minimal collection.

In the underwear section, Alba Herraez will be the celebration of sparkling feminine beauty, an unusual and glamorous collection embellished with crystals and transparencies. Ida Sture will include the magic and darkness of Norwegian forests. Precious and refined details for a powerful and dramatic lingerie collection. Naomi Soo will be a sensual and fascinating reinterpretation of traditional lingerie, bold shades inspired by floral universe.

The athleisure section will include Monica Gatta, a combination of nature and technology both for the use of materials and choice of shades. Athleisure of the future with a dominant eco DNA. Virginia Ruta will be about streetwear and sportswear merge in hybrid outfits designed for a woman who is protagonist in the metropolitan playground. Alexandra Todoran includes scuba fabrics are the key players for a collection featuring geometrics features and peculiar macro-prints that blend art and architectural impressions.

Many textile and accessory collections at MarediModa are fully designed with a green view combining sensitivity towards green topics, innovation, and performance.

The names of the two companies who will receive the prestigious MarediModa Creative Excellence Awards 2018 have been announced. This year, they will be assigned, in two different moments, to Vilebrequin, benchmarked iconic brand for man’s and woman’s swimwear which has managed to develop a very well defined identity and character as well as to boldly set up flagship stores with amazing concept departments in the most famous streets of the world. Adolf Riedl group with its four women’s brands (Sunflair, Olympia, Opera and Sunmarin) and men’s brand (Wavebreaker) could create a real swimwear hub with a cross offer always of quality and with a well-defined contemporary style.

Starting from the first day of the show, MarediModa will supply creatives all over the world, a unique and must-have tool, a source of inspiration and a true sextant for the preparation of any beachwear, intimates or athleisure collection, which long to explore new territories and cross- contaminations.

The Panorama area of synthesis represents the scenario of the best-seller of each exhibitor. Each company shows up its personalised tableau, a sort of showcase for visitors. It stands as an installation easy to be consulted, a full overview of the proposals which you may find at the trade show. The Panorama area is placed next to the event area.

Sensil, the premium nylon 6.6 brand for clothing produced by Nilit, the leading company worldwide, will be present in Cannes with a stand devoted to it, with the special participation of Judy Russell, marketing manager for North America, who will be presenting it to the public as part of the Here to Innovate opening conference.
