Matthew O'Brien to show new collection at Pure London

Matthew O’Brien, the winner of Britain’s Top Designer, is set to launch an inaugural, ready to wear offering for wholesale at Pure London in stand C54 in the premium evening wear section. Pure London, the trade fashion buying event, representing womenswear, menswear, footwear, accessories, and young fashion, will be held from February 9-11, 2020.

Over four years, Matthew has established an eponymous label at a flagship store in Chester, specialising in couture evening wear, bespoke bridal, millinery and men’s tailoring, using exceptional quality British materials. The new ready to wear wholesale collection captures the essence of couture without compromising on quality or attention to detail. 60 designs will be presented at Pure London with retailers able to commission exclusive garments, subject to a minimum spend, according to a press release on the show.

“This is my first time designing and presenting a collection for wholesale, also my first time attending Pure London. Seeing each garment’s journey from the sketch book, to the catwalk, into stores globally is thrilling. The collection has been designed for lovers of luxury seeking to capture a timeless glamour and sophistication in their look, no matter the age. The styles have been influenced by listening to my clients over the years and understanding what makes them feel confident and empowered. My label is the go-to for any special occasion, from an end of term prom to a business dinner, red carpet awards ceremony to a charity ball, and everything in between,” Brien said.

“Expanding into wholesale is a natural progression for the brand and builds on the work I was recognised for on winning Young Business Person of the Year last year. We’re looking forward to meeting new retailers at Pure London, and understand they know their customers best; so, in addition to the existing designs we can create garments exclusive to them, if that’s what they want,” he added.
