Mikko Makimattila to join Metsaliitto Cooperative's board

At a recently held meeting, the supervisory board of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Mikko Mäkimattila, master of science (agriculture & forestry), as a new member of its board of directors for the period 2020−2022. Mäkimattila is a partner and CEO in Dometal Oy and also a farmer active both in agriculture and forestry.

Jussi Linnaranta, master of science (agriculture and forestry), was elected to continue as a member of the board of directors during the three year period of 2020−2022. Linnaranta has been a member of the board since 2017.

Martti Asunta, metsäneuvos (Finnish honorary title), was not anymore available for election to board of directors. Asunta has been a member of the board since 2005.

The meeting, which was held on October 31, 2019, also decided to pay the following fees to the chairman, vice chairman and members of the board of directors in 2019: the fee paid to the chairman of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s board will be €7,500 per month, monthly fee for vice chairman will be €5,200 and monthly fee for board members will be €4,200. The monthly fee paid to the chair of the audit committee will be €1,200 and to the chair of compensation committee €1,000. The board members’ meeting fee was raised from €700 to €800.
