Inaugurating a 3-day buyer-seller meet in Malegaon jointly organised by the Regional Textile Commissioner Office, Navi Mumbai and Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL), Bhuse urged the local weavers and powerloom owners to export their local grey cloth and ready-to-wear sarees and fabrics directly from Malegaon with their own brand names.
Recognising the potential that the local grey and ready-to-wear fabric manufacturer have to attract the global market, Bhuse insisted them to create their own brand so as to earn identity and reputation in the competitive market.
Local MLA Asif Shaikh Rasheed urged the local weavers not to depend on other cities for their fabric processing and suggested that they should establish textile processing unit in Malegaon itself. He requested the minister to get suitable land reserved for processing units at the upcoming MIDC area in Malegaon.
Ravikumar, office in-charge, Textile Commissioner Office, Navi Mumbai, assured to extend all support for the development and growth of Malegaon textile industry. He also informed the weavers about the prevailing schemes floated by the Ministry of Textiles and requested them to take benefit from these schemes. (NA)
