Mitsubishi Gas Chemical to shut PX plant for maintenance

Japan-based Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co. is planning to take its paraxylene (PX) plant off stream for maintenance turnaround.
“We plan to commence maintenance turnaround in February 2016. The plant will remain shut for around 45-50 days,” a company official told Fibre2Fashion.
When queried about the current operating rate, the official said, “At present, the plant is operating at 80-90 per cent production capacity rates due to sluggish demand in the domestic market.”
The PX plant is located at Mizushima in Japan, and has a production capacity of 350,000 tons/year. (RKS)
