Double digit drop in Nov Japanese ethylene output

Ethylene output fell drastically in Japan this November from that a year ago and was also down marginally from October.
November ethylene production fell 11 percent from the same month in 2010, said the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
Ethylene output reached 556,500 tons in November against 625,400 tons from a year ago. November production also fell 0.1 percent from its previous month.
METI attributed the fall to a slowdown in demand from the Chinese market.
Maintenance shutdowns were nil in November, the same as a year earlier and two in October 2011.
Japanese ethylene export shipments dropped 4 percent year on year to 209,100 tons in October.
