"Traditionally one step ahead" is the motto of the TVU Textile Finishing Union in Middle Franconia. It applies to their innovations, quality standards, service provision and care for the environment in equal measure.

Consistently dedicated to the idea of sustainability, the company has been endorsed now as an environmentally friendly and socially responsible business under the OEKOTEX Standard 1000.

Traditionally successful
The roots of the TVU go back to 1922 and then in 1947 the company moved from the Sudetenland to Leutershausen. Since then, this third-generation family-run company has developed into one of the biggest yarn finishers in Europe, with an annual capacity of about 6300 tonnes.

Currently employing about 140 people in a three-shift operation, the company adapts to new trends quickly in all aspects of its work, so that it is always perfectly prepared.

Its complex structural organisation, numerous highly specialized work processes, 86,000 colour blends, in-house development work and a massive warehouse the size of two football pitches ensure that it is hugely successful on the global market.

Another factor guaranteeing the success of the TVU Group is the symbiosis which has worked so well since 1974 between the two arms of the business, the TVU Textilveredlungsunion and TVU Garnvertrieb, for its part one of the leading yarn traders in Europe.

Yarn finishing "Made in Germany"
The TVU is very conscious of the importance of its traditions and can look back on many years of experience in textile finishing in Germany. Yarn finishing on the one hand and yarn trading on the other complement each other perfectly and the cooperation between them creates valuable synergy effects.

Yarns are purchased from all over the world as the raw material and treated according to their intended purpose. The technical yarns, used for example in car interiors, industrial filters, hoses and protective textiles, have to meet very special specifications in their further processing. The TVU has built up extensive expertise in this field to meet ever-increasing functional demands.

Yarns for circular and flat knitting are mainly used in the clothing industry and made into pullovers, gloves and hosiery, for example. Here, TVU's wide range of yarns in different qualities and blends for all kinds of areas of use enables it to meet the demand. The yarns from the weaving plant are mainly used to make domestic textiles.
