U.S. Commercial Service in Japan, will organize a "U.S. Apparel Show" to showcase the latest American fashion products at the JFW International Fashion Fair (IFF), on January 25-27, 2012 in Tokyo.
Japan is the second largest fashion market in the world after the United States. Given the current exchange rate, this is an excellent time for U.S. companies to enter or to expand their exports to Japan.
The IFF is the largest fashion exhibition in Japan and attracts participants not only from Japan but from Asia, the United States and Europe, as well.
The U.S. Pavilion is open to all U.S. manufacturers and Japanese agents of U.S. companies that offer products with more than 51% U.S. contents and offers an easy-to-show package at a reasonable fee.
The Japanese market is the third largest export market for the American apparel industry after Canada and Mexico. Year to Date (June 2011) U.S. apparel exports to Japan was $125.1 million, a 6.1% increase from the previous year.. With the strong Yen, this is the best time for U.S. companies to enter or expand their export profits to Japan.
