China's imports of textile chemical fibres rose by 20.9 percent to US$ 1.01 billion during the initial 11 months of 2011, up from US$ 863 million worth of imports made during the corresponding period of 2010.
However, volume-wise, the import of textile chemical fibres dropped by 5.3 percent year-on-year to 310,000 tons during the same period.
November 2011 imports alone were worth US$ 98.04 million. During the month, China imported 30,000 tons of textile chemical fibres, with polyacrylic fibres constituting a major share of 16,900 tons.
China's import of chemical fibre yarns during January-November 2011 period stood at US$ 1.88 billion, registering a growth of 11.5 percent against the imports worth US$ 1.68 billion during the corresponding period of 2010.
Volume-wise, however, the Chinese import of chemical fibre yarns declined by 6.9 percent to 427,300 tons, compared to import of 458,900 tons during the same period of previous year.
In November 2011, China imported 33,200 tons of chemical fibre yarns.
