The Central Asian Republic of Turkmenistan plans to improve quality of its textile items in 2012.
For the purpose, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued several instructions to Vice Premier Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov and other Ministers.
The President said Turkmenistan plans to enhance competitiveness of its manufactured goods and increase production of its textile export items.
He added that efforts would be made to introduce innovative technologies to manufacture products that can replace imports.
Turkmen President stressed on beginning of construction for the second part of the Ashgabat textile complex. He also called for early establishment of the Seydi cotton mill in Lebap province and Urgench cotton mill in Dashoguz province.
He asked the Ministers to ensure timely completion of the complex for textile and dyeing units in Rukhabat district of Akhal province, in addition to the second part of the cotton mill coming up in Abadan city.
The President cited several other tasks that are to be performed in 2012. These include improving procedures for licensing of foreign trade operations in the country, ensuring the availability of good quality goods and organizing exhibitions to promote textile industry products in foreign markets.
