Chinese T&C sector ranked as most competitive

The Chinese textile and clothing sector is among China's most competitive sector in the country, said a report of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The report titled – 'China Industry Competitiveness Report' also adds that the productivity of the sector is 12 times that in the US.
It says that the industry is the most competitive industry of the nation, in aspects of international market share, trade competitiveness index, the index of comparative advantage and is also the strongest in the world.
Apart from being 12 times more competitive than that in the US, the Chinese textile and garment industry is six times more competitive than Italy and 7 times more than Germany.
However, when measured for carbon emissions, it ranks at number 6, amongst the 39 various industrial sectors considered in the survey.
