The Sudan Cotton Company Ltd. (SCCL) has announced the procurement price of SDG 400 per quintal of cotton for the current season.
SCCL said it will fulfill its commitment as part of the contracts signed with the cultivators during the onset of the farming season.
The Company said it aims to increase the farmers' cotton yield to 8-10 quintals per feddan (1 feddan = 1.038 acre) to encourage more sowing of cotton next season.
Besides providing inputs to farmers, SCCL plays an important role in production, promotion and marketing activities for cotton.
SCCL would absorb loss if the prices decline below the procurement price.
