Cariaggi Fine Yarns Collection - the prestigious yarn manufacturer based in the Marche region that specialises in cashmere, vicuña and superfine wools – continues to grow, closing 2011 with a turnover of 88.74 million euros, up 27.34% on 2010, which in its turn was +25% on the previous year.

These figures are clearly positive, especially given the current economic climate and market trends in general. Overall in 2011 the company performed better compared to 2010 in all the countries in which it is present, with 1.6% growth in emerging markets particularly worthy of note.

“We believe that the biggest challenge for international yarn manufacturers is to become ever more competitive, by continuing to invest in new products, innovating those that already exist, improving services and through research and staff training, while at the same time respecting the ever tighter deadlines the market calls for,” commented the CEO, Piergiorgio Cariaggi.

“Such investments are also strategic for staying competitive in times of crisis such as now. Cariaggi's investment policy has always remained the same and we will continue to invest in 2012 in order to increase promotion and sales abroad and to be increasingly better able to respond promptly to market demands.”

In April 2009 Cariaggi obtained Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, the international standard for safety throughout the entire textile production chain.
