The Australian Walk of Style has honoured five leading fashion designers by unveiling their plaques in Sydney's Paddington shopping area, on the lines of Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
The five designers, whose square bronze plaques have been enshrined at the intersection of Oxford Street and Glenmore Road, were selected by Simon Lock, founder of Australian Fashion Week.
The five celebrated designers are Collette Dinnigan, Akira Isogawa, RM Williams, late Mark Keighery of Marcs, and Sass & Bide creators – Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke.
Brainchild of businessman Theo Onisforou, the project aims to celebrate the past, present and future of the home of Australian fashion.
Over the next five years, the project plans to add plaques of at least two designers each year.
This is the third milestone for the Australian fashion industry after the Australian Fashion Week, going on for 17 years now, and the Australian Fashion Laureate, which completed five years.
