Samsung Total PX plant construction to begin in May

Samsung Total is planning to begin construction of a new Paraxylene (PX) plant from the month of May 2012.
“The plant which will have a production capacity to produce one million tons per annum of PX, will be set up at a cost of US $1.44 billion, a company official told fibre2fashion.
Samsung plans to begin commercial production at the plant to be located in Daesan in the month of September 2014.
With the addition of new PX capacity in 2014, PX capacity at Samsung Total will touch 1.6 million metric tons.
Samsung Total is a joint venture between South Korea based Samsung Group and French chemical major - Total Group.
